THE SOUL OF THE SWARTLAND

OVERVIEW

The Swartland Region begins only 50 kilometres outside of Cape Town making it fairly accessible to visitors, and its undulating wheat fields, vineyards and deep river valleys have been the topic of many a photographer’s lens. Open landscapes, wheat, rooibos tea and renosterbos are common-place here.

THE WINE & THE FOOD

Wines here must be naturally produced, a minimum of manipulation in both vineyard and cellar. Smaller producers with power packed wines, yet elegance and finesse reign supreme. What started out as cult style wines have fast become coveted classics.

GUEST COMMENTS

My wife and I toured the South African wine country with Katie and had a blast! Shes charming, horrendously funny and totally knowledgeable about wines and ways to assess them. We learned many things from Katie – Nicholas M, Philly
